To Associations:
I am writing to seek a nomination from your organization for members to participate in an Expert Working Group Committee on Positron-Emission Radiopharmaceuticals (PERs), currently being established by the Biologics and Genetic Therapies Directorate (BGTD). The Committee's draft Terms of Reference are also attached for your information.
The purpose of this Expert Working Group (EWG) on PERs will be to formulate advice and/or endorse proposed recommendation(s) by Health Canada with respect to the use of PERs in Canada.
Requests for participation on the EWG are being sought from academic, government, research, health and industry organizations through a nationwide nomination process. Members of the committee will be selected based on their recognized expertise and research productivity in certain key subject areas relevant to the work of the Committee. Consideration is also given to the candidates' ability to balance scientific rigour, practical considerations, regulatory requirements and international perspectives.
Please reply within 30 days from the date of this letter, including in your reply, the names, telephone numbers and biographies of nominees who you consider would satisfy the selection criteria for expert membership on the EWG-PER to:
